The East Midlands Grand Prix, was held at Nottingham High School on 18th October 2025. As well as being an annual junior rapidplay for the region, this year it was also a qualifer for the London Junior Chess Championships which take place in December.
In the U14s, Jared T scored 4 out of 5. Mariyam K was second with 3.5 points, Harri A was third with 3 points. All qualified for the LJCC. Shaheer K was 4th with 3 points and as he was U12 he qualifies for the LJCC U12 Minor. Alikan K won the U11s with 5 points out of 6. Second was Kirill P level on points but lost out on the tie break. Renan M was third on 4.5 points. All qualified for the LJCC.
In the U10s, Ethan L was 1st with 5 points, 2nd was Benedict C on tie break. Joshua B was 3rd with 4 points and Dilan U, also with 4 points, was 4th. All qualified for the LJCC.
In the U9s Elizabeth B was outstanding with 6 out of 6. Harrison C was second with 5 points. All qualified for the LJCC. Leonardo C and Hajin L were joint third with 3.5 points and they drew their head to head so both received a trophy.
In the U8s, Anish B won with an unbeaten 6 out of 6. Second was Aarav M with 4 points. In third place on tie break, was Erikka S with 4 points. All qualified for the LJCC.
