Midland County Teams Championship

At Nottingham High School.

Nottinghamshire Primary Schools Chess Association is hosting the Midland Junior Championship for all Midland associations. It is at Nottingham High School, Forest Road East, Nottingham. NG1 4HH. 

Nottinghamshire will be entering two Under 11 teams, one Under 9 team and a Girls team.

Under 11 teams of 8 players

Format of Each Tournament

The tournament will be played as a 5-round Team Swiss with the scoring reckoned by Matchpoints. 

Time Limit

The time limit of each game will be all moves in 15 minutes, plus 10 seconds per move.

Refreshments 

The school will have refreshments and drinks available during the day.  There is a local Sainsbury’s on Forest Road nearby.

Supervision

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at the event.

Association rooms

Each association will be allocated a room but some may have to share rooms if they are only bringing one team. Parents and non players can wait in these rooms.

Entry

Entry fee is free as the Association will cover costs.

However players must be members of ECF and have a minimum Junior Gold membership  as results will be submitted for ECF rating.

Photography

No photography is permitted within the playing area during play.

Any photos taken are for private use only and not to be shared on any social media platform

Parking

There is limited parking in the school playground. Please do not park on yellow lines or in front of exits of buildings as they are fire exits in case of an emergency.

There is a park and ride facility on the Forest. You have to buy a ticket to get free.

Results and Pairings

Pairings, results and cross tables will be published live online during the tournament to the ChessResults platform.
